Maruti is a brand which is synonymous with trust. This trust factor and their service has made Maruti Suzuki India’s largest passenger car maker. To maintain that same legacy the company is going to launch a car that is going to be more powerful and more mechanically advanced in the hatchback category – Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. With this make model Maruti Suzuki is going to introduce its boosterjet engines in India. Boosterjet is a kind of petrol engine that is turbo charged. The car was introduced as a concept in the auto expo 2016 held in February. The Baleno RS make model will be equipped with 1.0 litre boosterjet engines which will produce 110bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. Probably, it will be coupled with a five speed manual. The numbers are quite conspicuous of an improved performance when compared to the existing version. Existing petrol versions of the Baleno make model are powered by the 1.2-litre, K-Series VVT engine which generate a power of 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency of the car has been officially declared by Maruti at 21.4kmpl. The Baleno RS make model is a version, which is stylish and sporty. The dimensions and the design have not undergone any major change. But the final styling of the car is different. There is a black front grille and matt black alloy wheels. The front and the rear bumper have grown in size and a front and a very well coupled rear spoiler has also been provided. The size of the wheel is large with a smaller tyre profile. The dimensions of the car have almost remained unchanged but the style quotient has increased. The new model of the Baleno is probably going to have a reduced ground clearance than the existing version but given the fact that Baleno already has a high ground clearance; the new model won’t make much difference. The colors with which the car is going to be made available will be more trendy and sporty, so much so that the existing versions can be easily distinguished. The matte blue color which was displayed at the auto expo has never been seen on a normal Baleno. Much like the exteriors, the interiors are not going to undergo any major changes as far as the cabin design and the overall layout is considered. However there might be a little change in the instrumentation and the dashboard is going to be sportier. The existing Baleno version, has a plenty of space in the cabin for five passengers, it is also provided with a large boot space of 339litres. The top model of the Baleno make model is equipped with a lot of features which includes climate control and engine start-stop button, touch-screen music system with navigation, rear parking camera and sensors etc. In India the Maruti Suzuki Baleno series competes with Honda Jazz make model and Hyundai Elite i20. The new Baleno RS will see a stiff competition with the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI as its arch rival.
